Sunday Randomness

  • I’d forgotten about this hideous structure until I saw Reuters yesterday. North Korea’s Ryugyong Hotel a.k.a. ‘the worst building in the history of mankind’ (click here for image… too ugly to show), wakes from its coma. Egypt’s Orascom group has recently begun the construction of this hideous building after a 16-year pause.A rusty crane has been sitting at the top of the 1,083 ft. tall hotel in a city where tourists are only occasionally allowed to visit. How’s that good for business?
  • You know a cartoon I would like to see on the tele? Dora’s parents finally preventing their daughter from wandering the jungle alone, shouting at people in Spanish.

  • Isn’t this photo amazing?! It’s called ‘A Story With No Words’. (Unknown Photographer)
  • A few weeks ago, I posted here on wonderful The Pompomist a story about a photographer who had found an uncontacted tribe near the Brazilian-Peruvian border. Well, let me tell you the story is only half true. The photographer recently came clean. The men in the photo are part of a tribe indeed… but it is certainly NOT ‘undiscovered’. Actually, authorities have known about this particular tribe since 1910.
    [Thanks, Frances!]
