What To Do With An Odd-Shaped Block?

A New York magazine offered four architects the opportunity to design a building on a full block in downtown Manhattan, with no client to worry about… a dream job for any architecture firm.

The site is an odd-shaped block located at Canal Street and Varick Street, and just a few blocks away from the Holland Tunnel entrance, making the structure visible from every angle. The requirements are to include a residential are and to meet zoning requirements.

  1. I really like FLAnk’s “Subsidized Solution”. I would choose to build that one if it were me.
